Education requirements
• High school diploma or GED, or ability to obtain GED within one year.
Experience requirements
• 1 year of environmental service or housekeeping experience.
Qualifications
• Must be capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well.
• Must work well as a member of a group.
• Must be devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrity.
• Must be knowledgeable and aware of the locations of hazardous material (HazCom), bloodborne pathogens, and safety data sheets (SDS).
• Must submit to and pass applicable drug test. The Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma operates a drug-free workplace.
• Must be bondable and able to pass background check.
Responsibilities
• Ensure the tribal standards of cleanliness are achieved and maintained for assigned properties when providing environmental service.
• Service, clean, and replenish supplies in restrooms.
• Clean and maintain building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
• Gather and empty trash from tribal offices, buildings, and outside areas near entry/exit doors.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning supplies.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment necessary to perform daily tasks and notify supervisor to replenish supply inventory.
• Notify supervisor concerning the need for structural repairs or operational issues to mechanical systems.
• Encourage mutual respect, dignity, and integrity with all employees by setting positive examples at all times.
• Instill an atmosphere that encourages employees to share ideas, discuss concerns, and resolve conflicts.
• Retain employees through involvement in employee training and development.
